Erika Gerdemark Photography - Blog - wedding photographer in Stockholm, Sweden, Europe - bröllopsfotograf Stockholm, Sverige bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

I am a photographer based in Stockholm, Sweden. This is a blog about my work, my thoughts, my art and my business.

I work mostly with weddings, it's my biggest passion. But I also do other types of portraits, still life and reportage.

I find my inspiration in fashion and in nature. The scenery seen from a train window on my way to my hometown, fashion magazines, and constantly view websites about weddings all over the world are some of the things that keep me going.

Live - create - explore

Patience

There is only one word when shooting kids - patience. This is my nephews Emma and Lukas. Emma wanted to be photographed and Lukas refused. But when I started to shoot Emma he got jealous and finally he lay down beside her and laughed. Kids… why are they so complicated?

“An evening with your favorite photographer…”

“An evening with your favorite photographer” was the theme when “Fotosidan’s” group for wedding photography asked me to come and talk about my work. I felt honoured when they asked me, and of course I can share my experience and my point of view when it comes to wedding photography and how it is to...

An empty room with some chairs and a star

Henrik and Frida are renovating their house in the countryside. I was happy to find this white empty room with just some chairs and one star made up by straws hanging from the ceiling. I had some creative freedom at this shoot and took the chance to show off more of my dreamy side, that...

Spirited away by Interflora

“Spirited away” became one of the themes for a shoot that I did for Interflora in February. The florist were inspired by one of The Swedish Fashion Council trend reports for 2009; Spirited away. Think about a fantasy world, a forest, a fairy tale, something surrealistic, a living being. The florist did an amazing job and I...

With my new lens life is so much more fun!

Yesterday I met Jenny Blad, a talented photographer from Göteborg. I brought my camera and my new lens, a Canon 50 mm f/1.2 and took some photos of Jenny. It feels so much more fun and inspiring to shoot now with the new lens! It’s almost like when I was 19 years old and brought...

Fire and flash

Swedish Barbro and British Simon gathered their closest friends and family in Skebo bruk, north of Norrtälje, February 21. The ceremony started with a torchlight procession and the rings were exchanged indoors at the veranda. My new lens (a Canon 50 mm, f/1,2) was priceless at this dark wedding. The portrait session was shot indoors...
