A Bali wedding with a red tea ceremony

After posting the first little preview from Tassya and Kevin’s wedding in Bali I received a sweet little message; “Hiring you was one of the best decisions we made”. These words really moved me. I hope they feel the same after viewing the final blog post. This wedding was truly special.

Tassya and Kevin got married July 28th in Bali. Flying for the second time this year to Indonesia will be a third. In November I’m going to Bali again for a third wedding. It’s surreal, it truly is. The island is magical and to have the opportunity to photograph Tassya and Kevin’s wedding is an experience I would not like to have been without. Warmhearted and romantic they made me feel welcome to the other side of the world.

The wedding day in Bali started at Le Grande Hotel with the preperations. Early in the morning Kevin saw Tassya for the first time at Banyan Tree where the dinner was held and where we also took the portraits before the tea ceremony. After a short lunch break I was blowned away to see the chapel at Tirtha Uluwatu. What a place. In the end of the day hundreds of ballons were sent up in the sky and I went back to my hotel room where my assistant had order some food that I was eating in the bath. That kind of luxury a photographer need after shooting a long day.
