There is so much a little fringe can do. For some reason I felt connected to Marlene and her bang (among other things). I guess it’s like to meet a stranger on the street wearing the same pink skirt from H&M as you. That silly. But the fact is the recipe for great portrait photos is connection, a relaxed couple and plenty of time. More photos to come.

I flew home from Vienna an early morning in the end of July after shooting some travel reportages, just repacked my bags and went straight to Stefan and Sofia’s wedding outside Mölnbo. We had 1.5 hour close to the water near their church Vårdinge kyrka for their portrait session. Normally it’s not possible to book such a short session during the summer season on Saturdays, but since Stefan and Sofia booked me quite close to their day it was possible.

When I got home to Emmeli and Jouni in Hammarby Sjöstad for shooting the preparations I instantly saw what type of colors they liked. The interior was pale turquoise, gray and white. and when I saw the wedding flowers I decided to look for these colors all day. The invitations, the car and shoes was all in the same colors that I really love. Emmeli and Jouni’s ceremony took place in Maria Magdalena kyrka at Södermalm so we decided to take the portraits not too far away. After the ceremony we also had the opportunity to photograph some more photos in Hagaparken near Stallmästaregården where they had their reception. 

I really felt comfortable in Emmeli and Jouni’s company, they were so relaxed and so happy the entire day! I hope that I just got two new friends.

A few hours ago I left Emmeli and Jouni’s wedding dinner. There is so much to tell about their beautiful day and more photos will be posted in a few weeks! I have now downloaded all the memory cards and will fly to Zürich early tomorrow morning. I will be working in Switzerland and Austria for a week doing some travel reportages with a journalist for several Swedish magazines. Please be patient of you send me an email or try to phone me. June 11 Sara and Mark got married in central Stockholm. It was a very sunny and hot day! The ceremony took place at Hallwylska palatset, an old building close to Nybroplan that is a public museum. At the inner courtyard their friends and family were gathered to witness Sara and Mark’s Swedish/British marriage. After the ceremony an old tram car transported all the guests from Norrmalmstorg to Rosendals trädgård were the reception was held. It was a perfect evening to spend in the garden before the dinner was served in the green houses. 

Thanks Sara and Mark for a very fun day together! I hope that your trip to Italy is amazing and welcome back home very soon!

Yesterday evening I had a fun “after wedding session” with Niroch and Riccardo who got married last Saturday. We photographed some more relaxed portrait photos without thinking about time, stress or destroying the dress. I think I just captured my favorite photo of the year. This photo describe so well what I want to accomplish as a photographer.

Sara and Mark, newly married are taking a walk from the tramcar to Rosendals trädgård for the cocktails. Yesterday was their shining British-Swedish wedding in Stockholm. More photos to come!

I recently got back from France after photographing Darren and Laura’s wedding at Chateau la Durantie outside Limoges. They are a British couple celebrating a week long with their family and friends in Dordogne’s most beautiful castle. I’m honored to be flown from Stockholm to document their lovely wedding. More photos to come very soon!

When Perkian and Elias told me what type of locations they would like to have on their wedding portrait session I was going through places like The royal Opera, Grand Hotel, Skridskopaviljongen and Van der Nootska Palatset. But finally I got a reminder of how beautiful Vinterviken was when I last photographed the decor for an amazing wedding with a Moulin Rouge theme held in their big hall.

To enter Alfred Nobels old sulfur factory with just a one table, a wooden floor, 10 meters to the celling and an amazing light coming through the windows is magical. I was praying for a sunny weather and when the bridal couple arrived one hour late I bet I was trigger happy. I can’t even remember the last time I shot so many photos in such a short time. I felt like some kind of autopilot was turned on and I didn’t have the time make any reflections during the session – I was just shooting.

After the portrait session the ceremony and the reception was held in Södertälje.

Perkian and Elias, thanks for trusting my ideas! For sitting on a dirty floor and for being outdoors despite a cold winter weather. It was so much fun to photograph you!

January 29 I went to Djursholm for a intimate and sunny winter wedding. I started to shoot the preparations in Helene and Andreas beautiful home and before the ceremony we went out in the cold weather to shoot some photos in the sunset. The weather was just as beautiful as the ceremony in Djursholms kapell. The former winner of the Swedish Idol Daniel Lindström surprised the bride and sang his winning song “Coming true” in a acoustical version. The entire thing was carefully arranged by the groom and I think all the guest including the bride will remember this especially. It all started with Andreas singing the first part of the song and then Daniel Lindström made the entrance. You should have seen the brides face and all the guests when the groom was faking it! The dinner took place at Grand Hotel in central Stockholm.

Thanks Helene and Andreas for a great day! I hope that you enjoyed your time skiing in the Alps.

Sometimes I get thank you cards from my clients and that is something I really appreciate. This is a note from my friends Kajsa & Robert that got married August 28 in Stockholm. I made the layout to the card that is 10 x 20 cm and at the back of the card they wrote a sweet personal message. 

Thanks to all of my clients from 2010 who have sent me notes after the wedding! Your words keep me going and I appreciate it much more than you think!

I felt both lucky and got nervous when Linda asked me to take some portraits of her in the beginning of the autumn. Linda Broström Cabrera is a very talented photographer and the more I get to know her the more I like her. She is an incredibly brave, smart and business minded person. I’m happy the she is a part of the network for wedding photographers that I’m also a member of.

Linda and I drove out to Dalarö in the afternoon to get the perfect sunlight for her shoot – and we did got the magical light. Remember when looking at these photos that Linda used to complain that se don’t look good at photos. I think she look stunning!

Linda, thank you for being my friend and a great inspiration. Please bring me out for long walks! I think we need each other more than ever.

I’m happy to be a part of a network together with five other talented wedding photographers. We support each other, hanging out and talking about our life as photographers. We do want to make changes in the industry, but most of all we want to have fun. So December 2 we invited Swedish wedding photographers for a mingle in my studio. About 36 photographers were gathered for some “glögg” and gingerbread. Check out the photos that were taken in our photo booth during the evening (and if you want to know who I am – I’m the one with long blond hair and a fringe).

Jessica and Hans got married in Lidingö kyrka. Their priest was Hans dad, HB Hammar and it turned out to be an intimate and emotional ceremony. Before the ceremony I photographed Jessica and Hans portrait session on a remote part of Lidingö. I tried to combine a more elfin theme (that had inspired the bridal couple from a previous shoot), with the autumn leafs. The reception was held at Operaterassen that made a unique setting and a great view over central Stockholm. I left home teary-eyed after receiving some emotional and personal words from Jessica and Hans, feeling like the happiest photographer in the world.

Jessica and Hans, it means so much to me to have such great clients as you. I wish you the best of luck, whatever life brings you.

The dinner took place in the greenhouses at Rosendal. The table setting was carefully arranged with apples, candy, flowers and colorful porcelain.

August is a very intense period of work for me. I was working day and night and I stayed up late on Friday the day before the wedding to put together a slideshow from Kajsa and Robert’s pre wedding shoot that became my speech during the dinner. And looking back, it was all worth it! It was so much fun to see so many of my friends dressed up to celebrate Kajsa and Robert’s love for one another. They had really made a wedding that suited them. Relaxed, colorful, near the nature and with an elegant touch of retro.

Thank you Robert and Kajsa for trusting my ideas when I showed you my mood board. I’m so happy to be your friend and I know that this is just the beginning of your life together.
